Birth & Labor Support

No woman should have to birth alone…

Expecting a new life and planning the birth of your baby is an exciting time filled with many emotions, and especially so if it is the first baby. The unknowns of pregnancy, labor and birth can be a bit overwhelming and unsettling at times mixed with the addition of adjusting to a new life for you and your partner and all those involved.

In the past few years, we have found ourselves living in an unprecedented time with the introduction of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Seemingly overnight the landscape of pregnancy and childbirth changed for women, their families and their support people and other members of the birth team, which include doulas, birth photographers, midwives and doctors.

Many women have changed their birth plans to birth at home or in a birth center, instead of the hospital, so they can birth without restrictions and have the support they need.

Planning a home birth or birth center birth is not for everyone. I’m happy to help give information to help you choose what is best.

Having a doula to help plan what to expect for your labor and birth in the hospital, birth center or home birth, can offer relief, guidance, nurturing and reassurance along the way.

Doula support can make a tremendous difference in your birth experience and outcome during the labor and postpartum time period. Lack of perinatal support is associated with greater risk of postpartum depression.

I have been a doula for since 2004 and I am a mother of two beautiful and talented girls. With my first, I was induced, in labor for four days and ended up with a cesarean. I learned so much from that experience. For my second, I chose to have a home birth VBAC (aka vaginal birth after cesarean or HBAC home birth after cesarean). It was a life-altering, healing and positive experience for me and my family. I am trained in hypno-birthing, rebozo, infant massage and I am a certified prenatal yoga teacher, instinctive meditation teacher and registered dietitian. I have supported hospital births, home births, birth center births, planned cesareans, twin and breech births and also moms without partners.

I want to help make a difference for you and your birth.

  • Considering switching to a home birth or birth center birth? I can guide you in the right direction.

  • Want to do a virtual or in-person prenatal yoga sessions and guided meditation? Let’s do it.

  • Do you need help with birth planning and labor support ? I am here for that as well.

Whatever combination of support you need we can dream up together.

We couldn’t imagine finding someone more knowledgeable, warm and supportive to be with us during such an intense and important time of our lives.
